Transport in Rironi area along the Naivasha–Nairobi highway this morning was disrupted after a section of traders blocked the road and deflated more than 200 vehicles demanding for the arrest of Kitui Governor, Hon. Charity Ngilu for allegedly ordering youths to burn down a lorry ferrying charcoal across Kitui County three weeks ago.
The protest began at around 9 am and lasted for the better part of the day forcing other road users to seek alternative routes for safe passage.

According to an eye witness Mr. Yegon Emmanuel who is privy to this media and happened to be caught in the fiasco. There was a massive traffic snarl–up following the incident attracting the attention of residents and online community.
Ngilu who was summoned by the NCIC this morning for questioning has since been set free as the courts have barred her arrest over the previous incident an order that did not auger well with the traders.
Kenyans on social media have condemned the act urging Kenyans to maintain peace and sobriety.
