Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED) is a non-profit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

The TEDx event titled “The Changing Face of Entrepreneurship in Africa” will be the first TED event hosted in Eldoret and the greater Rift region under TEDx Moi University. The event is geared towards bringing together innovators, dynamic thinkers and champions for a better tomorrow together to engage and develop and bring positive change through sharing ideas and networking. The talks will be broadcasted live and shared online for viewing by the masses.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.  At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes or less.

Why TEDx Moi University?

Eldoret is among the fastest growing towns, extending its reach far beyond the traditional agriculture and athletics. It is carving its presence on the corporate map. Moi University, on the other hand, has been the educational hub of the greater rift, producing a number of prominent graduates, and also graduates who need a little motivation and direction to tap into their inner mojo and break the glass ceilings. TEDx Moi University provides a platform for role models in the society to share their story, advise and motivate graduates and the community around to grow and cope with the changes that arise.

Why “The Changing Face of Entrepreneurship in Africa”?
