Welcome to another episode of the MoJo Futures podcast. Our guest this week is Dickson Ojakol from Banda community. Disckson tells us about his experience as a mobile journalist and how he has used it to advocate for change in Banda community.
Dickson, despite facing challenges, the worst among them being police brutality, understands the significance of storytelling and remains committed to telling stories. In his view, the benefits that come from telling the stories in his community outweigh what he has to go through to do the stories.
As a youth, Dickson has been disturbed by the living conditions in Banda and seeks to enlighten the youth on the need to drive change instead of waiting on the government. This he does through telling the stories using his phone and initiating dialogue.
