The Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet has now put on notice all Kenyans sharing images of the ongoing attack at Duisit Complex along 14 Riverside Drive in Nairobi.
According to Boinnet, sharing the images of the attack on social media is one way of aiding the attackers in perpetuating the heinous incidence.
“We therefore urge the member of the public to flag these images,” Boinnet said.
According to the police Boss, they have combined specialized units under the singular commandant of the GSU commandant Mr. Karanja and Multi agency back up to support the operations hence police officers have taken charge of 6 of the 7 floors of the hotel.
” I would like to confirm that the ongoing operation has made considerable progress in containing the situation and various premises have been secured that had been taken over by the criminals,’ Boinnet said.
Boinnet also urged the members of the public with any information on the attack to contact the DCI on 0721141282 or call police line 999 or visit their nearest police station.
He promised to provide the third update later in the evening.
