African music group making a well oiled career in the States

MERK (otherwise known as MERK La Familia) is a New York City-based music and art collective. A self-described “musical family”, the group is composed of Zimbabwean brothers T and Bic Will, French producer/DJ Juju, Harlem rapper Milli, and Haitian singer Maritza.

Known for their events and public stunts, MERK blend hip hop, new wave, and world music influences as on their debut EP LOUD and album ‘Safe in Sound’ , Milli has also developed a following with his solo mixtape, GREASE.They are notably known for a publicity stunt in soho in which they hopped  out of a smoking  Uhaul truck with a full sound system during a Travis Scott pop up shop minutes before Travis Scott arrived.
